Weekend Recap

Indians Football was on the road to open the season at the home of the Lapel Bulldogs. The Indians were victorious 42-27. Senior Cade McCoin completed two touchdowns from the air while rushing one into the endzone. Hunter Smalley and Heisman Skeens each caught one of those touchdown passes from McCoin. Skeens also ran three more touchdowns for the Indians recording over 350 all-purpose yards.


Boys Soccer defeated the Tri-Central Trojans at Fisher Field on Saturday 3-2. All fice goals were scored in the first half. Robbie Smith, Cory Quakenbush, and Sam Tarpein found the net for the Indians. Colin Yoder assisted on two goals along with Sean Williams.


Boys Tennis traveled to Adams Central on Saturday to earn a 3-2 victory over the Jets. Isaac Torres won 6-3, 6-3 at One-Singles. Conner Murphy (5-7, 6-4, 6-4) and Paxton Sample (6-2, 6-2) added the other Indian wins to sweep the singles spots.


At Yorktown, our Cross Country runners opened the season on Saturday. The Boys team placed 7th (159) while the Girls finished 5th (114). Brennan Butche took 1st place at 16:14.8 for the Indians. Aurora Fisher was the top runner for the Girls placing 2nd with a time of 21:22.1.


Lady Indians Volleyball took 2nd place at the Elwood Tournament on Saturday. The team defeated Tipton (25-24, 18-25, 15-8), Clinton Central (25-20, 25-18), and Lewis Cass (25-11, 25-12). In the Championship Match the Lady Indians fell to Danville (25-27, 20-25).

Volleyball Opens with Win, Boys Soccer & Tennis Recap

Volleyball and Head Coach Hope Coons earned a win last night against Western as they opened play on a newly renovated court. The Lady Indians won in three sets 25-13, 25-18, and 25-20. Halle Planck had 6 blocks, 12 kills, and 1 ace. Erika Foy compiled 9 kills, 1 block, and 2 digs while Kenzie Skeens had 37 assists.


Boys Tennis improved to 2-0 on the season by defeating the Kokomo Wildcats on the road with a 3-2 victory. Isaac Torres (1S) won 6-0, 6-0 along with Paxton Sample (3S) who won 6-4, 6-3. Seth Graves and Chandler Morrison picked up a win (1D) in two sets 6-3, 6-3.


Boys Soccer was on the road again last night to battle the Apaches of Wabash. The Indians lost 4-1 (Yoder goal). They open the season at home on Saturday which fans can watch live on TheCube and TribeTV.
