Soccer & Tennis Meet Tough Opponents

Boys Soccer fought for a road-win last night at North Miami. It was the last away match of the season for the Indians that ended in a 10-0 loss. The boys and girls host Eastbrook on Monday for Senior Honor Night with the Lady Indians kicking off the evening at 6:00pm. Senior Honors will be given between games.


Ole Miss Boys Tennis continued their tough schedule at state-ranked #7 Avon last night. Paxton Sample fought into a third set tie-break but could not get the Indians a point, and the team fell 5-0 to the Orioles. Mississinewa is 12-5 with Senior Honor Night on Monday against Burris.


RJB Boys and Girls Tennis swept the Eastern Comets in straight sets 5-0, 5-0. RJB Volleyball 7th Grade defeated Blackford in straight sets 2-0. At this time there was no 8th grade result reported.

Boys Tennis Repeat CIC Champs

Boys Tennis traveled to Frankton tonight to battle out a CIC title. The Indians won 4-1 against the Eagles clinching a repeat of the title.


The Lady Indians matched up with Elwood tonight for another CIC volleyball event. Mississinewa won in straight sets in both the JV and Varsity contests (Varsity: 25-19, 25-23, 25-22).

Rain Challenges Soccer Results and Cross Country Battles at Grant Four

While Boys Soccer was rain outed at South Adams and tentatively scheduled for Wednesday at 5:30pm, the Lady Indians soccer team hosted the Starfires and finished in a 3-3 draw.


Cross Country ran in a soggy Grant Four with both teams placing 3rd. Brennan Butche won the boys race with Tucker and Ehmer finishing in the top ten. Carli Fones earned top ten honors in the girls race.


RJB Volleyball took the 7th grade match against Kokomo 25-12, 25-4 while the 8th grade fell 15-25, 25-23, 13-15.


RJB Tennis defeated Kokomo tonight. The girls won 5-0, and the boys won 3-1.


RJB Football battled CIC opponent Eastbrook last night. The 8th Grade won 32-28 along with a 7th Grade win 22-8.

Girls Soccer Wins on the Road

Lady Indians Soccer traveled to Lakeland Park Christian to earn a road victory 2-1. Webb continued her scoring with both of the girls goals (assisted by Greer on one of those goals).


RJB Boys Tennis won last night 5-0, and the girls were defeated 2-3. RJB 6th Grade Volleyball won in straight sets while the B-Team won 2-1.

Football Battle Tonight . Indians Win Big Last Night

Volleyball swept the competition from Varsity to 7th grade last night. The Lady Indians defeated Marion in three straight sets (25-15, 25-13, 25-15) after the JV squad swept the Giants earlier that evening. Erika Foy had 12 kills, 5 digs, and 1 ace. Taylor Walker, Halle Planck, and Kirsten Lockwood had 5 kills each. Planck added 3 blocks to her stat sheet, and Kenzie Skeens recorded 34 assists and 4 digs.

The RJB Lady Indians hosted CIC opponent Frankton last night. The 8th grade defeated Frankton 2-1 while the 7th grade swept the Eagles 2-0.


Boys Tennis continued Mississinewa’s great evening with a CIC win over Elwood 5-0. Here is the report from Coach Fleming, “The Indians blanked the Panthers in 8 of the 10 sets to extend their record to 4-0 in the conference and 11-4 overall.  Mississinewa will play in the Homestead Invitational, that will include five state-ranked teams, on Saturday.”

#2S: Conner Murphy won 6-0, 6-4
#3S: Chandler Morrison won 6-1, 6-0
#1D: Seth Graves / Paxton Sample won 6-0, 6-0
#2D: Mason Christensen / Josiah Stark won 6-0, 6-0
Ethan Miller won his JV singles match 8-1.


Elwood also ran into trouble on the golf course facing the Lady Indians at Shady Hills. Mississinewa won 202-219 in this Girls Golf competition. Davis led the way as medalist shooting a 46 followed by LaBarr (47), Tignor (53), Allen (56), and Pannell (65).


Football Teams Set to Aide Hurricane Victims Tonight

The Mississinewa Indians are set to face the Eastbrook Panthers tonight at Eastbrook High School (7:00pm kickoff). While this is a big CIC battle, the teams are coming together in an effort to support the victims of the recent hurricanes.

In cooperation with Earthwise Plastics in Marion both schools will be collecting supplies to send to hurricane victims. A box for donations will be located next to the Ticket Booth at the game tonight. Some of the items needed:

RJB Tennis Sweeps Eastern, Volleyball CIC Showdown

The Alexandria Tigers came into Mississinewa looking to battle for a place atop the Volleyball CIC. The Junior Varsity Lady Indians started the evening with a 2-1 win, but the varsity squad struggled falling 3-0 to the visitors giving Alexandria control over the CIC.


Girls Soccer hosted Wapahani while the boys team traveled to the Raider’s home pitch. The boys held control over much of the match, but could only bring home a draw with a final score of 2-2. The Lady Indians won at Fisher Field 6-0 with Webb and South both netting 2 goals each to lead the girls side.


RJB Tennis paired up against the Eastern Comets from Greentown and swept all matches in the boys and girls events with a clean 5-0, 5-0 win.


RJB Volleyball battled the Wes-Del Warriors at all grade levels. The 6th grade came up short losing 2-1, while the 7th grade earned a victory 2-0, and 8th grade won in 3 sets (2-1).

Holiday Weekend Recap

On Friday, Indians Football traveled to Blackford for another CIC match-up. The Indians won 47-3.


Saturday was a tough day for Boys Tennis. The team competed in the Fort Wayne Carroll Invitational. Paxton Sample was the only Indian to come away with a victory. Sample was 2-1 with his only loss coming from a super tie-break to Homestead. The Indians are 7-4 on the season and compete next at Maconaquah on Wednesday.

Loss to #5 Homestead 5-0
Loss to #28 Delta 4-1
Loss to #25 Concord 4-1

Homestead won the tournament by defeating Mississinewa, #12 Cathedral, and #9 Fort Wayne Carroll.


IMG_1580 (3)123_1Mississinewa Cross Country ran in the Marion Invitational on Saturday. Brennan Butche broke the school record and the Grant County record by running 15:26 and finishing in 4th place in the Elite Division. Mississinewa Boys finished 15th in the Purple Division. The Lady Indians finished 13th with the best finish coming from Aurora Fisher (8th) with a time of 19:53.


Mississinewa Volleyball competed in the Kay Saunders Classic hosted by the Wes-Del Warriors on Saturday. The team finished 2nd to an undefeated Hagerstown after a very good run throughout the day.

Championship: Lost to Hagerstown (25-15, 20-25, 7-15)
Defeated Blackford (25-12, 25-9)
Defeated Tipton (25-14, 25-18)
Defeated Wes-Del (25-11, 25-13)


Girls Soccer hosted Whitko on Saturday in game one of a doubleheader with the guys team and came away with a win 3-1 on three goals by Webb. Boys Soccer lost on the morning to Manchester 9-1.

Football Partners to Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey

On Friday, September 1 the Mississinewa Indians and the Blackford Bruins will face off on the field at Blackford High School. The teams will also be partnering to provide supplies to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. There will be a truck by the main gate designated for donations. The teams are looking for clothing items such as t-shirts, hoodies, and shoes that can be sent to the victims. If you are unable to attend the game at Blackford you can drop off your donations at Mississinewa High School’s Main Office before 3:30pm on Friday. Both schools thank you for your willingness to help those in need.


Boys Tennis took on CIC opponent Blackford tonight and made their conference record 2-0 with a win over the Bruins 5-0. The RJB Tennis teams also improved to 2-0 as the boys defeated Marion 5-0, and the girls won 4-1.


Boys Soccer falls to Heritage 9-0. The Indians will play next on Saturday after the girls 10:00am match-up with Whitko. Both games can be watched live on TribeTV at TheCube.com.


Volleyball traveled down the road to CIC rival Eastbrook to move to 2-0 in the conference with a 3-1 win. The RJB 7th and 8th grade Volleyball teams both held home court against the visiting Elwood Panthers with wins. Congratulations Lady Indians.

Tough Night For Indians

Cross Country ran last night against Eastern (Greentown) and Madison Grant in Fairmount. The boys and girls teams both placed 2nd. Jakob Ehmer was the top runner for the boys and finished 1st at 19:22. Anika Williams at 26:46 earned 1st place in the girls race.


Boys Tennis lost to #24 Marion 4-1.


Girls Golf hosted Huntington North and were defeated 179-214. Davis shot a season best to lead the Lady Indians with a 46. Other scores included LaBarr (52), Tignor and Allen (58), and Pannell (61).


Girls Soccer traveled to Oak Hill and came up short. They lost to the Eagles 3-0.


In Junior High athletics, the volleyball squads traveled to East Jay to open up their season. The 8th grade team lost, but the 7th grade Lady Indians earned a win.
