Girls Tennis recorded another win at Yorktown last night. Here is what Coach Fleming had to say, “On Thursday, The OleMiss Tennis Team traveled to Yorktown, where they escaped with a 4-1 victory.   Three of the matches went into a third set.  The team played very well and responded well to the challenges on each court.  Mississinewa has now won 11 of the last 12 matches and owns a record of 13-3.  The Indians will host Western on Friday before playing in the FW Concordia Invitational on Saturday.” The Junior Varsity tied Yorktown 5-5.

The only loss of the night came at Eastbrook in Softball. The Lady Indians lost 1-2 to the Panthers. Erika Foy pitched a complete game giving up only three hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Storms rolled through the area eventually, but only the Track & Field CIC Meet was affected. That event will continue tonight at Oak Hill starting at 5:30pm.

The big story of the night was the 33-0 scoreline coming from Junior Varsity Baseball. The Indians defeated Madison Grant (CIC) at home with Seth Maddox pitching the complete game. Tyler Jakob led the Indians going 3 for 3 with a single, double, and a triple.

Coach Fleming and the Girls Tennis team traveled to Frankton. Here is what he had to report, “On Wednesday, the OleMiss Tennis team traveled to Frankton to play its last conference match of the season.  The Indians nearly missed a clean sweep of the varsity courts in its 5-0 victory.  Mississinewa has now won 10 of their last 11 matches.  OleMiss is now 12-3 and will travel to Yorktown on Thursday.”

The Varsity squad gave up only two points in the One Doubles contest, winning every other set 6-0. The Junior Varsity also won 6-0.

Softball defeated Daleville on the road last night 14-1. Kait Leavitt pitched for the win, and she also went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Darcie Patton was 4 of 4 with a home run, double, and 4 RBI’s. Mallory Sands went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Erika Foy rounded out the offensive leaders going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Mississinewa Boys Golf came close, but they fell short to Taylor 190-188 under Josh Dakin’s top mark of 41 (one short of medalist). The other marks were Breyton Berryhill (46), Doak Labarr (49), and A.J. Cragun (54)
