Indians dominate week 9

Today’s Tribe Sports Report written by the Tribe Sports Network Director Ryan Scott.

High School and RJB winter athletic schedules are up for this season.

Covid-19: Before entering sporting events at Mississinewa High School and RJ Baskett Middle School masks are required and please social distance so Indian athletes can keep doing what they love.

Football: In a week 9 win this past Friday, Coach Buresh and his tribe took down Elwood 56-6 to end the regular season. Now, the Indians will put all focus on sectional #20 where the Indians will welcome long time rival Marion to Fisher Field this Friday for round one as they start the road to Indianapolis. A season ago the Tribe knocked off Marion in the sectional championship at Marion within seconds on a field goal by now senior Andre Sallade.

Let’s take a look at week 9 stats for the Indians. 
Hayden Nelson rushed for 87 yards and ended the night with 5 carries.
Landry Rock was 5-7 with 93 yards passing.
On the receiving end Carson Campbell with 43 yards.

Girls Basketball: Coach Friday and her Tribe are off and going for the 2020-2021 season. The lady Indians will travel to Ft. Wayne Wayne for their scrimmage on October 31st.

Boys and girls handle panthers

Indian News:

Girls Basketball: Mississinewa will be the host for sectional 23 and below are the matchups.
The Lady Indians took down Elwood on the road Saturday 68-39. Riley McKee lead the Indians with 12 points and 4 boards.

Boys Basketball: The Mississinewa boys basketball team defeated Elwood on Friday 74-18.  The Indians placed 3 players in double figures.  Anthony Horton led the way with 16 points, Tai McClung and Bryce Luedtke finished with 10 points.  Anthony Horton lead the Indians with 8 assists and Tai McClung pulled down 11.  The Indians improve to 11-2 and remain unbeaten in conference play at 4-0. Ole Miss will travel to Alexandria this Friday for another CIC showdown.

Indians take down tigers in ot thriller

Indian News:

Girls Basketball: Coach Friday and her lady Indians came up with a 58-51 victory over CIC rival, Alexandria last night in overtime. Carly Bolser lead the Indians with 14 points,12 boards and 4 blocks.

Wrestling: The Indians fell to Tipp. Valley last night 24-55 on Senior Night. No stats were reported at time of post.

Boys Basketball: Now, the Tribe is on a nine game win streak as they took down Wabash 68-48 on Tuesday. The Indians were led in scoring by Landen Swanner with a game high 20 points.
