Season finale for Indians

Tribe Sports Report

Boys Basketball Sectional Tickets will be available for pre-sale at the Mississinewa High School Main Office. Weekend tickets are $10.00. Single session tickets will only be available at the event when you arrive at Norwell High School. Single session tickets are $6.00. Pre-sale tickets are now available until noon on Tuesday, February 27.

Coach Evertts and the Indians will face Heritage in the 3A IHSAA Sectional at Norwell High School. The team will play at 7:30pm on Tuesday, February 27.

Any student interested in the TRAP team can attend an informational meeting on Monday, February 26 at 6:00pm in the MHS Cafeteria.

Tennis Open Hitting for tonight is cancelled. Contact Coach Fleming with any questions.

RJB Girls Basketball . The 6th grade team defeated Montpelier 39-22 with McCarty leading the team with 11 points.

Tonight’s Events . MHS Boys Basketball hosts the Taylor Titans at 6:00pm tonight in the season finale for the Indians. Fans can watch live on MCSC Athletics YouTube. RJB Boys Basketball will send their 6th grade team to Riverview for a 6:00pm contest.


Today’s Sports World Update

Winter Olympics . The United States women’s hockey team defeated Canada last night to earn it’s first gold medal in 20 years. The game went into overtime and a shoot-out. Jamie Anderson won silver in snowboarding, the women earned silver in 2-man bobsled, and the women’s cross-country skiing team won it’s first ever gold medal. The U.S. moved into fourth place in the medal count while Norway tops the list with 33.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . The #9 Purdue Boilermakers, at 24-5, take on Illinois tonight at 7:00pm on Fox Sports One.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . Ball State Lady Cardinals continued their great season with a win over Western Michigan 85-58, and Purdue defeated Illinois 64-51. #5 Notre Dame faces Virginia Tech tonight at 7:00pm on the ACC Network.

NAIA Men’s Basketball . Indiana Wesleyan won big on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League Tournament 102-77 over the Taylor Trojans. The Wildcats will face Huntington on Saturday at 3:00pm in Marion.

NAIA Women’s Basketball . The Lady Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan slipped past Saint Francis on Tuesday 59-58 to face Taylor on Friday in the Semifinals of the Women’s Crossroads Tourney. That game will start at 7:00pm at Luckey Arena.

Boys Basketball travels to New Castle

Coach Evertts and the Indians will face Heritage in the 3A IHSAA Sectional at Norwell High School. The team will play at 7:30pm on Tuesday, February 27.

RJB Girls Basketball . The 6th grade Junior Lady Indians faced Crestview last night. The A-Team won 43-18 led by Morrison with 17 points. The B-Team lost 13-9. Browning had 7 points.

Tonight’s Events . RJB 6th grade Boys Basketball plays at Marion Justice at 6:00pm. The Boys Basketball team travels to New Castle for a 6:00pm tip against the Trojans.


Today’s Sports World Update

Winter Olympics . The United States Men’s Hockey team advanced to the semi-finals after beating Slovakia 5-1. The U.S. has five gold medals, twelve total. Events continue today including the finals in the Women’s Downhill Alpine Skiing.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . Notre Dame lost to Miami 77-74 yesterday. Ball State faces Northern Illinois tonight at 7:00pm on ESPN3. Butler will play Creighton on Fox Sports One, and Indiana will play Nebraska at 9:00pm on the Big Ten Network.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . The Lady Hoosiers play Minnesota tonight at 8:00pm.

MHS Wrestling . Kyler Funk fell in the first round of the IHSAA State Finals Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to Cade Girgenti. Kyler wrestled in the 182 class on Mat 1 and went down early in the first bout with a Girgenti pin. Kyler represented Mississinewa extremely well, and is looking forward to two more years as an Indian.

MHS Boys Basketball . The Indians defeated the Eastbrook Panthers on Friday night 68-52. Thabit Gault scored 29 points to lead the Indians. On Saturday, the varsity squad traveled to Bluffton and picked up another weekend win defeating the Tigers 62-42. The Indians play at New Castle on Tuesday.

 

Tonight’s Events . RJB 6th grade Boys Basketball plays at Montpelier Middle School at 5:30pm. The 6th grade Girls host Crestview at 6:00pm.

Funk Wrestles at Bankers, Indians Senior Night vs. Panthers

Tribe Sports Report

MHS Wrestling . Kyler Funk will wrestle at approximately 7:00pm Tonight at the State Finals in Banker’s Fieldhouse. TribeTV is not permitted to cover the event, but a live stream is provided at IHSAAtv.org. TribeTV will be on the mat sending photos and updates. There will be a send-off ceremony at 11:00am at Mississinewa High School for Kyler before he leaves for Indianapolis. Watch the send-off live on MCSC Athletics Facebook.

RJB Wrestling . The junior high team faced Elwood and Southern Wells last night. RJB defeated Southern Wells in the first event 46-30. Hurd, Alston, Galvan, Johnson, Spencer, and Ice won by pin. Hickman won in a major decision, and Bebout and Mobley won on a normal decision. RJB fell in the second round against Elwood 30-18. Galvan, Johnson, and Rose all got pins.

RJB Boys Basketball . The 6th grade team defeated Elwood 39-12 last night. Cox had 5 points, and six other Junior Indians scored 4 points.

RJB Girls Basketball . The 6th grade girls defeated Elwood 45-0. Sullivan scored 11 points.

Mississinewa High School Senior Honor Night for winter athletics is this tonight at approximately 7:00pm. The event will take place immediately after the Boys JV contest with Eastbrook. TribeTV will have live coverage of the entire evening on MCSC Athletic’s YouTube channel.

Military Night will take place on tonight. All veterans and active military personnel will receive free admission, and are asked to sign in upon arrival at any one of the main entrances. Those that attend will be honored between the JV and Varsity contests.

Tonight’s Events . MHS Boys Basketball take on Eastbrook in a CIC match-up. Freshman play at 5:00pm to kick off the night. Kyler Funk will wrestle in the first round of the state finals at Bankers in Indianapolis. The Parade of Champions starts at 5:45pm. Kyler is wrestling in the 182 class.


Today’s Sports World Update

Winter Olympics .  The highlight of the day in the winter olympics was Ryan Donato netting two goals to help the United States get past Slovakia in hockey.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . #6 Purdue was upset by Wisconsin last night 57-53. Ethan Happ scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Badgers in their biggest win of the season.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . #5 Notre Dame defeated Virginia 83-69, and Purdue upset #10 Maryland last night 75-65. Butler faces Providence tonight at 7:00pm.

Indians Prep for Big Friday Night

Mississinewa High School Senior Honor Night for winter athletics is this Friday, April 16 at approximately 7:00pm. The event will take place immediately after the Boys JV contest with Eastbrook. TribeTV will have live coverage of the entire evening on MCSC Athletic’s YouTube channel.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . The Purdue Boilermakers face Wisconsin tonight at 7:00pm on ESPN. Purdue looks to defend it’s strong season and #6 ranking.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . #10 Maryland will challenge the Lady Boilers tonight at 6:00pm. That game can be seen on the Big Ten Network. #5 Notre Dame faces Virginia at 7:00pm on the ACC Network.
