The February 20th School Board meeting, which can be replayed on TheCube,gave Mississinewa a look at several new coaches that will be added at the younger levels. Congratulations and welcome are in order to the following individuals:

- Brittany Drake – 7th Grade Softball
- Tori Stanley – 8th Grade Sotball
- Larry Bryant – R.J. Baskett Wrestling
- Shawn Smith & Brad Smith – Assistant RJB Wrestling Coaches
The Missisinewa Boys Basketball team lost the final game of the season last night to the New Castle Trojans 53-63. The fourth quarter was the downfall of the Indians as they were outscored 21-8 after winning two out of the first three quarters. Thabit Gault led the Indians with 18 points. Elijah Bounds and Nolan Young contributed 9 points each. Mississinewa ends the season 15-7 as they head into sectional play at Bellmont where they will face Heritage on Tuesday, February 28 at 6:00pm.
The JV lost in a very close game 51-52. The Indians completed a full court pass to earn a shot at the win from within 5 feet, but the shot rattled in and out. Larry Dean and Tyler Sizemore were the top scorers with 9 points each. The JV team ends the season at 15-7.

Coach Evertts and his team are coming off of a 52-44 win against Bluffton on Saturday. Jerod May led the Indians with 23 points. Nolan Young also had a good night with 14 points. The Indians are 15-6.
The Junior Varsity team also won 41-24. Every player scored while Larry Dean topped the scoring with 7 points. Coach Cunningham and the JV Indians are also 15-6.
IHSAA tournament play starts next week. The Indians drew Heritage in Sectional 23 at Bellmont. The game will be Tuesday, February 28 at 6:00 pm. If they win Bishop-Luers would be their next opponent.
