Indian Wrestlers ready for Regionals

Tribe Sports Report

There were no events last night in Indian Athletics. Just a reminder that Coach Arbogast and the MHS Track and Field team will be holding a call-out meeting on Tuesday, February 6 at 2:40pm in the Pit at MHS. See Coach Arbogast with any questions.

RJB Girls Basketball . There is a schedule update for the 7th grade girls this Saturday. The CIC Championship will be at 10:45am on Saturday at Alexandria.

Tonight’s Events . There are no events tonight. This weekend, MHS Wrestling will send Kyler Funk, Courtland Scott, and Skylar Tackett to the Peru Regionals at 9:00am Saturday morning. MHS Boys Basketball will host the Delta Eagles at 11:00am. Indians basketball can be watched on MCSC Athletics YouTube. RJB Boys Basketball will compete in the Maconaquah Tournament starting at 9:00am.


Today’s Sports World Update

NCAA Men’s Basketball . The big game this weekend is #5 Michigan State at Bloomington against the Indiana Hoosiers on ESPN, Saturday at 8:00pm. The Spartans are 9-2 in the conference and are the favorite to win the game especially after winning 85-57 in the first meeting.

NBA . At 29-23, the Pacers are the favorite to win tonight against the Hornets. That game starts at 7:00pm.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . #5 Notre Dame defeated North Carolina last night 94-62. Purdue upset #13 Michigan 81-79 in overtime. The Butler Lady Bulldogs host St. John’s tonight at 7:00pm.

NAIA Basketball . Indiana Wesleyan will host Huntington University on Saturday. Women’s Basketball kick-off the afternoon at 1:00pm followed by the Men. The same scenario is true just down the road in Upland where Taylor will host Mount Vernon Nazarene.

Lady Indians fall to Giants in Sectional

MHS Girls Basketball . The Lady Indians lost last night to Marion in the opening round of the IHSAA Sectional at Bellmont 60-23. Holli Greer had 7 points to lead the Lady Indians followed by Freshman Taylor Ulerick with 6. Mississinewa finishes their season 11-12.

Tonight’s Events . RJB Boys and Girls Basketball will send it’s 6th graders to Tipton tonight. The boys will only play an A-game. Those contests are set to start at 5:30pm. Looking ahead to the weekend, MHS Wrestling will send Kyler Funk, Courtland Scott, and Skylar Tackett to the Peru Regionals at 9:00am Saturday morning. Today’s Sports World Update

NCAA Men’s Basketball . #3 Purdue made it 18 in a row last night by defeating Maryland 75-67. Isaac Haas had 20 points on 8 of 14 shooting. The Butler Bulldogs took down Marquette 92-72 with a 23 point performance from Tyler Wideman.

NBA . The Indiana Pacers edged out the Memphis Grizzlies 105-101. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 21 points on 7 of 12 shooting to lead the Pacers.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . Ball Sate moved to 18-3 on the season with a 97-65 win over Akron last night. #5 Notre Dame will face North Carolina tonight on the ACC Network at 7:00pm. The Lady Boilermakers take on #13 Michigan tonight at 8:00pm.

NAIA Basketball . Indiana Wesleyan’s women lost to Marian last night 56-75. The Taylor Lady Trojans defeated Saint Francis 66-61. The men and women from both Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor are in action on Saturday.

RJB Boys Basketball . The 6th grade Boys Basketball game against Frankton tonight has been cancelled. No make-up date is set.

Tonight’s Events . MHS Girls Basketball travels to Bellmont to take on the Marion Giants at 6:00pm in IHSAA Sectional 23. Watch live on MCSC Athletics YouTube provided by TribeTV. 6th grade Boys Basketball hosts Frankton at 6:00pm tonight as well.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . Indiana lost to Ohio State last night 71-56. Devonte Green has 20 points in the Hoosier’s loss. Ball State defeated Toledo 75-63. Tahjai Teague had 21 points to lead the Cardinals. Tonight, #3 Purude faces Maryland at 8:30pm on the Big Ten Network. Butler plays Marquette on Fox Sports One at 9:00pm.

NBA . At 28-23, the Indiana Pacers take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at 7:00pm in Indianapolis. Lance Stephenson is still on the day-to-day injured list as of Tuesday. Indiana is sitting at third in the Central Conference behind Milwaukee and the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.

NAIA . Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball defeated Marian in double-overtime 87-82. Taylor fell to St. Francis 58-89. The Lady Wildcats travel to Marian tonight for a 7:00pm contest. The Lady Trojans are also on the road tonight to St. Francis.
