Girls Basketball falls to Giants

Tribe Sports Report

MHS Girls Basketball . Lost last night to the Marion Giants 66-40 at Mississinewa High School. Erika Foy was atop the Lady Indians scoring with 20 points. The team plays again on Saturday at home against Blackford in a CIC contest.

RJB Girls Basketball . The 8th grade team defeated Selma 30-24 last night. Catey had 8 points and Nicholson scored 7. The 7th grade girls lost 38-33 with Bushman scoring 12 points.

Tonight’s Events . MHS Boys Basketball hosts the Bellmont Braves tonight at 6:00pm. Fans can watch live on YouTube.


Today’s Sports World Update

NCAA Men’s Basketball . Indiana defeated Penn State 74-70 last night. Juwan Morgan scored 21 points to lead the Hoosiers. Ball State earned a huge MAC win against 7-1 Ohio 75-68. Butler lost to Creighton 85-74, and Purdue edged Michigan 70-69 fueled by Carsen Edwards 19 points.

NBA . The Indiana Pacers at 21-19 face the Heat tonight at 7:00pm.

JV Indians 50/50 and Wrestlers Crown 3 Champions

Tribe Sports Report

JV Girls Basketball . The Lady Indians fell in the first round of the Grant Four at Mississinewa tonight to Oak Hill. Taylor Ulerick had 8 points, Jenna Berryhill and Laekyn Emmons had 7 each, and Darah Watson had 4 points. Thanks to Dalton Bishop for reporting these stats and announcing the JV Grant Four.

JV Boys Basketball . The Mississinewa JV Basketball team defeated Oak Hill by a score of 40 to 35 in the first round of the JV Grant 4. The Indians were lead in scoring by Landen Swanner with 11 points and the team will play in the JV championship on December 23rd at approximately 2:00pm.

MHS Wrestling . The Indians competed tonight in the Grant Four at Madison Grant High School. The team crowned three individual weight class champions with Tackett, Smith, and Funk. The team has a little bit of time off before they compete after Christmas.

Tuesday’s Events . MHS Boys Basketball travels to Yorktown for a battle with the Tigers at 6:00pm before competing in the Grant Four Tournament this Saturday at Eastbrook.


Today’s Sports World Update

Heading into the holiday, the Indianapolis Colts are 3-11 after the loss to Denver. The Indiana Pacers are 17-14 coming off of a one point loss to Boston 112-111. Villanova and Michigan State top the polls in Men’s College Basketball. Ball State Women’s Basketball is still undefeated.

Indians Sweep Argylls in CIC Hoops

MHS Girls Basketball . The JV Lady Indians started Saturday morning off with a win 39-24. Laekyn Emmons had 12 points. Coach Tandy and the varsity overcame the Argylls for a 54-40 conference win. Erika Foy scored 20 points while Tyler Bartel and Ally Hewitt each added 8 points. The Lady Indians were balanced on the boards bringing down 28 rebounds.

MHS Boys Basketball . The Indians brought home three wins on Friday night. The C-team defeated Madison Grant 35-29. The JV won 71-31. Tai McClung had 15 points, Cade Campbell added 11, and Jeshon McClung scored 10 points. Coach Evertts and the Indians claimed a conference win in the varsity contest 65-53. Jalen Martin had 19 points, Thabit Gault had 16, and Conner Wilson added 10 points. Gault also brought down 17 rebounds in the win.

Tonight’s Events . The Wrestling Grant Four will be hosted at Madison Grant High School tonight starting at 6:00pm. The Junior Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball opening rounds will be played at Mississinewa High School tonight. The main court will be streamed live on MCSC Athletic’s YouTube. Fans can watch the entire Wrestling Grant Four on a delayed stream on MCSC Athletic’s YouTube on Tuesday.
