Indians fall in last regular season game, eyes state tournament

The Indians were on the road Friday night as they visited Manchester on their senior night. The Indians were without senior Hayden Ulerick in the 42-61 lose. The Indians were unofficially lead by Lucas Asbury’s 11 points. No official stats were reported. The Tribe now gets ready for the 112th IHSAA boys basketball state tournament as they drew Bellmont for Tuesday nights match up at Norwell starting roughly at 7:45pm. Sectional pairings released for baseball and softball

The 2021 IHSAA Baseball and Softball state tournament sectional parings were released Sunday evening. Below are the pairings.

#23 Bellmont Baseball Sectional (6)
G1: Marion vs. Norwell.
G2: Mississinewa vs. Heritage.
G3: G1 winner vs. G2 winner.
G4: Bellmont vs. Oak Hill.
Championship: G3 winner vs. G4 winner.

#23 Norwell Softball Sectional (5)
G1: Norwell vs. Heritage.
G2: Mississinewa vs. Bellmont.
G3: Marion vs. G1 winner.
Championship: G2 winner vs. G3 winner.

Indians dominate week 9

High School and RJB winter athletic schedules are up for this season.

Covid-19: Before entering sporting events at Mississinewa High School and RJ Baskett Middle School masks are required and please social distance so Indian athletes can keep doing what they love.

Football: In a week 9 win this past Friday, Coach Buresh and his tribe took down Elwood 56-6 to end the regular season. Now, the Indians will put all focus on sectional #20 where the Indians will welcome long time rival Marion to Fisher Field this Friday for round one as they start the road to Indianapolis. A season ago the Tribe knocked off Marion in the sectional championship at Marion within seconds on a field goal by now senior Andre Sallade.

Let’s take a look at week 9 stats for the Indians.
Hayden Nelson rushed for 87 yards and ended the night with 5 carries.
Landry Rock was 5-7 with 93 yards passing.
On the receiving end Carson Campbell with 43 yards.

Girls Basketball: Coach Friday and her Tribe are off and going for the 2020-2021 season. The lady Indians will travel to Ft. Wayne Wayne for their scrimmage on October 31st.
