Thursday, May 4, 2017 . Story by Brooks Holloway, MCSC Media Director

Four out of the five varsity courts were shutouts in the Lady Indians 5-0 win (4 total points on the One-Doubles court for Blackford). The JV also defeated Alexandria 7-0. Coach Fleming and the Lady Indians are now 10-3 (3-1 CIC) on the season.

Baseball had another huge night, bringing home a 14-1 win at Southern Wells. The Indians scored 10 runs in the first inning. Nolan Young had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Lucas Richards and Cade McCoin had 2 hits each, and McCoin added a homerun and 2 RBIs. Trey Jones got the win on the mound striking out 4 on 1 earned run. The JV game against Tipton was cut short due to weather.

Josh Dakin was the medalist (38) last night for the Boys Golf team as they defeated Madison Grant (CIC) 178-215. Bryce Luedtke shot a 45, followed by Doak Labarr (47), and Braden Henry (48). The closest Madison Grant score to Dakin’s excellent round was a 45. The JV (three-man team) also won 186-192. Wesley Steeley shot a 55, A.J. Cragun shot a 60, and Devon Dill recorded a 71.
