MHS Baseball . The Indians traveled to Yorktown last night and struggled against the Tigers falling 5-0. Mississinewa did not record any hits, and only one man reached on a walk. Swanner and Brown pitched against the Tigers. The JV Indians hosted Yorktown, but no results were reported from that event.

MHS Softball . Mississinewa’s varsity squad ended the contest after posting a 5-run 5th inning to beat the Wapahani Lady Raiders 10-0 last night. Berryhill threw a 1-hitter while Cruzan went 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s from the plate. The JV completed the dominant sweep last night capturing the second contest.

MHS Girls Tennis . The #28 Marion Lady Giants came to Mississinewa last night and left with a 4-1 win. Maggie Herring served the Lady Indians only win at 3-singles. The JV also lost 3-1 with Alexis Tignor capturing the only Ole Miss court.

Tonight’s Events . Boys varsity baseball will travel to Wabash High School tonight to take on the Apaches at 5:00pm. Junior varsity softball will host the Maconaquah Braves with the first pitch at 5:00pm.

Track Opens Outdoor Season with Wins & Records

MHS Track & Field . The boys and girls teams both brought home wins last night against Anderson Prep and Muncie Burris. The boys won 67-45-42, and the girls won 71-31-56.

The boys 4×800 relay, which includes Jacob Ehmer, Zach Luchetti, Camden Dorothy, and Cameron Sizemore won with a time of 9:20. Elijah Standridge set a school record (10.8) with a win in the 100m. Wins also include Brennan Butche in the mile and 800m, Josh O’Connell in the 400m, Standridge in the 200m, and Heisman Skeens in the long jump. The 4x100m relay of Skeens, Gage Peterson, Standridge, and John Hall also earned a top place.

The girls 4x100m relay of Haleigh Skeens, Alayna Webb, Beth Lucas, and Zoe Rogers won. Lucas also won the 100 high hurdles and the 300 low hurdles. Carlie Fones tied her school record in the 100m (12.6), won the 400m, and set a school record in the 200m at 26.4 seconds. Raegan Tippey won the 800m. Aurora Fisher won the two-mile race. Skeens won the high and long jumps.

Tonight’s Events . Softball hosts Wapahani today at 5:00pm while baseball travels to Yorktown. Girls Tennis hosts Marion at 5:00pm to round out tonight’s action.

School Calendar Reminder . Spring Break for Mississinewa Community Schools starts this Friday, March 22 (no school on Friday). Students return to class on Tuesday, April 2.

Upcoming Events . The next event for MCSC Athletics is the March 30th baseball double-header at Cowan. First pitch will be at 10:00am. TribeTV will start it’s live coverage of Indian Athletics on April 1 when baseball will host the Adams Central Jets at 5:00pm.
