Volleyball
The Mississinewa Lady Indians are eyeing win number two of the 2021 season. A win over Eastern on Monday night has given the Lady Indians confidence heading into tonights matchup with Western. Tonight will be the home opener for the Indians and tonight will be a “RED OUT” theme for all fans and the student section as well. “The home opener is always an exciting one for the girls. I’m hoping they can feed off of the energy of the environment and play with intensity from the beginning of the match to the end” said head coach Jody Havens. Having fun while still being competitive seems to be a huge part of success not only in volleyball but typically for all sports rather that be elementary up to the pros. “This group plays their best when they are loose and having fun on the court” stated Havens. Recalling back to Monday night coach Havens was very happy. with the effort and the overall result, she did want focus on a few things to fix before hosting Western tonight. “We focused a good amount of this week practicing and improving the accuracy of our serve receive passes, I would like to see us execute out of serve receive and score much quicker than we did on Monday against Eastern” said Havens. We encourage everyone to come out tonight and support your Lady Indians wear RED be loud and proud. If you cannot make it to tonights Volleyball you can watch it live on MCSCAthletics YouTube Channel beginning at 6pm.
Tennis
Already one win under the belt of Coach Fleming’s Boys Tennis team and what more of a way to have confidence then to start a season with a win. The Indians will travel to Kokomo tonight for another “war” against a very solid Kokomo Wildcat team. A team in Kokomo that will truly test the Indians and make them battle some adversity along the way, gathering information that seems to be what the Indians are looking for is a “true” test. “Tonight we are expecting the same result as Monday which was a win, we will be tested tonight but that’s what we want” said Senior Ryan Scott. “Tonight is a good match to get us ready for Saturday morning”. We encourage those of you who can’t make it to tonight’s volleyball game to go out and support the Indians as they are on the road for a very tough matchup starting at 5pm.
Boys Soccer
The Trifecta is at stake. All three teams competing tonight for Ole Miss all are 1-0. A favorable match for the Indians tonight as they will host their home opener against the Wabash Apaches. The Indians come in off of a promising win against the Peru Tigers on Tuesday night. The Indians will be without one of their Seniors and leading scorers tonight Holden Brown. The Indians will have to battle through adversity but if you’re able to overcome it you’ll be successful throughout the entire season. Come on out and support the Indians as they host the Apaches at 5pm.
