MLB- In Major League Baseball last night the National League Central Division leading Cincinnati Reds played host to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Luis Castillo was on the bump for Cincinnati taking on Arizona’s Zac Gallen. Castillo got off to a rocky start allowing 3 earned runs in the top of the 1st Inning on 4 hits, things could have been much worse for Castillo as he left the bases loaded in the 3rd and 4th innings. The Reds would get on the board with a Luis Castillo double following a Jesse Winker base hit moving Castillo from 2nd to 3rd. Tyler Naquin stepped to the plate with a line drive base hit into right field scoring Castillo from 3rd. Cincinnati continued chipping away at the Arizona lead, Tucker Barnhart would draw a walk for Cincy bringing Kyle Farmer to the plate. Farmer would blast a 2 run homerun over the left field fence in the bottom of the 6th. In the top of the 8th a torrential downpour started in Cincinnati. Lucas Sims was called to the mound for Cincinnati, Sims made his 7th appearance of the year only allowing one hit. Arizona with a runner on 1st and 2nd with 1 out, Sims would hit a batter with a pitch and walk in the go ahead run for the D-Backs. The Umpires would congregate at midfield before deciding to postpone the conclusion of the game. Reds and D-Backs kick things off tonight at 5:10pm Est with the conclusion of last night’s game.
NBA- The Indiana Pacers and Caris Levert are back on the court tonight hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder and Shai Gilegous- Alexander. The Pacers are looking to hang onto the 9th seed and make progress on 8th place Charlotte Hornets. In action tonight as well Chicago at Cleveland, Phoenix at Philadelphia, Miami at San Antonio, and Golden State at Washington.
NASCAR- Alex Bowman returned to victory lane for the first time since 2017. A late race pass on Denny Hamlin propelled the Tucson, Arizona native to the victory. “First and foremost I need to thank everyone at ALLY, Chevrolet, and everyone at Hendrick Motorsports. This one’s for Rowdy(Harrell) who passed away in the off-season, it’s been tough on all of us this one is for Rowdy and his family” said Bowman. The NASCAR Cup Series will head to Talladega this weekend with Denny Hamlin as the points leader.
INDYCAR- The NTT Indycar series returned to action this past Sunday in Alabama. Alex Palou was the victorious driver for Chip Ganassi Racing in a Honda. The NTT Indycar series continues with action this weekend for the Firestone Grandprix in St. Petersburg, Florida.
