Hardware comes back to gas city

Today’s Tribe Sports Report written by the Tribe Sports Network Director Ryan Scott.

Football. A police escort from Marion High School to the corner of 15 and 22 was soon turned over to the Gas City Fire Department and Grant County EMS as they took the Indians Head Coach, Curt Funk, his staff and his team through Gas City.  The community lined the streets to welcome home the 2019 IHSAA 4A sectional 20 champions. What an amazing night that ended with a single kick. Did someone say Andre Sallade? Yes, the “Boot” himself kicked a 20 yard field goal to clinch the game for an Indian 31-28 victory over their rival, Marion Giants.  The past three seasons have been nothing but intensity for the Mississinewa Indians and the Marion Giants. The Indians made the short 6 mile drive to the Dick Lootens Stadium last night for their third meeting in twenty-six years. The Indians finished the night with 488 yards on offense. The team will set their eyes on East Noble for the Regional Championship next week as the Mississinewa Indians will host the Knights at Fisher Field.
