Tribe Sports Report
Girls Tennis . The Lady Indians won their first conference match over the visiting Elwood Panthers 4-1 last night. All singles matches were won 6-0, 6-0. The 1-doubles pair of Frantz and Kern gave the Lady Indians their only doubles win. The JV squad also won 7-2. Coach Fleming and the team are now 4-1 overall, and undefeated in the conference.
Boys Golf . First year coach Andy Roesch and the Indians defeated Frankton yesterday 160-170. Mississinewa is 2-0 on the season. Bryce Luedtke shot a 38, Ty Corey a 39, Justin Dakin a 40, and Ryan Scott shot a 43.
Softball . Cierra Vasquez pitched for the Lady Indians last night in their 15-5 win over Kokomo Taylor. Vasquez struck out 5 while allowing 5 hits and 4 walks in the 5 inning game. Madison Stanley and Alivia Rice were 3-3 from the plate. Stanley had 2 triples and an RBI. Lexi Cruzan was 2-3 and knocked in 4 runners for the Lady Indians.
Baseball . JV Baseball knocked off the Frankton Eagles in 5 innings last night 11-1 for a conference victory.
RJB Track & Field . From Boys Track last night, RJB defeated Frankton and Alexandria 49-44-34 in that order. Konner Ricks won the 110 hurdles, the 400m, the long jump, and was part of the 1st place 4x400m relay team including Jayden Crick, Courtney Jones, and Devon Carter. Hayden Nelson set a RJB school record of 11.2 in his 100m first place finish. Nelson also won the 200m. Justin Picco won the shot put to round out the winners for the boys.
Tonight’s Events . Baseball and Softball take on Madison Grant in Fairmount at 5:00pm. The junior varsity softball game will start after varsity contest at approximately 6:15pm. Boys Golf will host Wabash with the first tee time at 5:00pm. Finally, RJB Soccer will play at Fisher Field tonight as they continue their spring season.
