Tribe Sports Report
MHS Baseball . The Indians picked up a win on Saturday against Northwestern on the road 7-2. Kreigh Young went 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Tyler Jakob and Carson Campbell added hits for the Indian offense. Carson Campbell also had 3 stolen bases adding to the Indian’s 6 total. Owen Felver took the win on the mound pitching all 7 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
MHS Track & Field . Indian Track took part in the High School Showcase last Friday. Brennan Butche ran the mile race at Lawrence Central in a time of 4:22.04. Heisman Skeens, Elijah Standridge, Carlie Fones, Beth Lucas, and Haleigh Skeens competed in the Adidas Sprinter Showcase at Lafayette Jefferson High School. Fones broke her own school record in the 400m at 59.72 and placed 6th in the showcase. Standridge and Skeens placed 6th and 7th in the 200m. Lucas finished 10th in the 100 high hurdles. Fones, Standridge, and Haleigh Skeens also competed in the 100m to round out the evening’s action for the Indians.
Tonight’s Events . Baseball travels to Maconaquah to take on the Braves and attempt to string together wins. First pitch is at 6:00pm. The junior varsity Softball team will play at Marion at 5:00pm.
