Tribe Sports Report

MHS Boys Basketball . The Indians won their third straight game last night, now 3-3, at Yorktown as they defeated the Tigers 64-39. The junior varsity squad also won 56-52 to extend their success to 6-1. Lucas Asbury and Hayden Ulerick led the JV in scoring with 21 and 14 respectively. The C-Team came up short falling to Yorktown 43-29. Statistics for the varsity game were not yet available.
Tonight’s Events . The R.J. Baskett girls basketball team plays at Madison Grant today at 5:00pm for the only event of the day.
Winter Break Events . As Mississinewa Schools closes down the first semester and moves to winter break, the Tribe Sports Report will take a break until school reconvenes. Follow MCSC Athletics on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube to gain access to everything Indian Athletics.
On Saturday December 22, Mississinewa will host the 2018 Boys Basketball Grant Four. The Indians will face Oak Hill at 10:00am, and the junior varsity team will play in the JV Championship at 2:00pm. Here is the day’s schedule:
- 8:30am . JV Consolation Game
- 10:00am . Mississinewa vs. Oak Hill
- Noon . Eastbrook vs. Madison Grant
- 2:00pm . JV Championship Game
- 6:30pm . Varsity Consolation Game
- 8:00pm . Varsity Championship Game
The Lady Indians will compete in the Grant Four the following Saturday at Eastbrook following a similar schedule as above. Wrestling will compete at the Connersville Invitational on Friday, December 28th. More events will fire up after the New Year’s holiday, and MCSC Athletics will be sure to keep you up-to-date on that schedule.

Today’s Sports World Update
NBA . The Pacers lost to a struggling Cavs team last night 92-91 on a Larry Nance dagger. Domantas Sabonis scored 17 points in the loss for Indiana. Indiana will play Toronto tonight at Scotiabank Arena (7:30pm).
NCAA Men’s Basketball . #2 Duke defeated Princeton last night by half a century, 101-50. RJ Barrett scored 27 points for the Blue Devils. #1 Kansas won over South Dakota 89-53 fueled by Dedric Lawson’s 16 point performance. Some of the upcoming big match-ups include Duke-Texas Tech (12/20), Buffalo-Marquette (12/21), and Kentucky-North Carolina on Saturday (12/22) at 5:15pm on CBS.
NFL . The Indianapolis Colts take on the New York Giants on Sunday, December 23rd at Lucas Oil Stadium (1:00pm, CBS) in Week 16 action. The Colts at 8-6 still have an outside shot at the playoffs. Andruw Luck is 49 yards away from the 4000 yards mark going into Sunday’s game.
