Volleyball takes down Argylls, Boys Tennis defeat Maconaquah

MHS Girls Golf . No results were reported last night for the Lady Indians golf match with South Adams.

MHS Boys Tennis . The tennis team defeated Maconaquah last night 4-1 to move to 7-6 on the season with Northeastern on Saturday. The junior varsity also won 2-1. John Oliver and Hayden Rowley earned Singles wins against the Braves. Chandler Morrison with Ryan Scott, and Mason Christensen with Riley Fuqua swept the Doubles positions.

MHS Boys Soccer . Boys soccer lost to Muncie Central on the road 8-0.

MHS Girls Soccer . Girls soccer hosted the Muncie Central Bearcats and earned their second straight win 1-0 at Fisher Field.

MHS Volleyball . Coach Bolser and the Lady Indians remain undefeated in the conference. The team defeated Madison Grant last night 3-0 with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-13.

RJB Volleyball . No results were reported last night for the Junior Lady Indians match against Madison Grant.

Tonight’s Events . RJB cross country will face Alexandria and Elwood at Elwood tonight at 5:00pm.

Pre-sale tickets for the Mississinewa-Eastbrook football game on Friday, September 7th are available until Friday at noon, here at Mississinewa High School. Pre-sale tickets are $5. Fans may also purchase these tickets at Eastbrook High School.

Today’s Sports World Update

NFL . Tonight, the NFL season enters week one of the 2018 season as the Atlanta Falcons travel to Philadelphia. The season kicks-off at 8:30pm on NBC. The Colts will host Cincinnati on Sunday at 1:00pm in their season opener.

NCAA Football . USC and Stanford highlight this weekend’s college football match-ups. This game is Saturday at 8:30pm and can be seen on Fox. The week two top five includes Alabama (vs. Arkansas State), Clemson (vs. Texas A&M), Georgia (vs. South Carolina), Ohio State (vs. Rutgers), and Wisconsin (vs. New Mexico).

NASCAR . Racing returns to the Brickyard this weekend. On Sunday, the Monster Energy Cup will run in Indianapolis on the NBC Sports Network at 2:00pm. Kasey Kahne is the defending champion.

PGA Golf . The tour is in Newton Square, Pennsylvania this week for the BMW Championship. Marc Leishman is last year’s winner. Play has begun this morning for the $9 million purse.

MLB . Baseball scores from around the midwest include the Cleveland Indians defeated the Royals 3-1. St. Louis took down the Nationals 7-6. The Pirates won in Cincinnati 3-2. The Chicago Cubs won 6-4 over the Brewers, and Detroit handled the White Sox 10-2.
