Tribe Sports Report
RJB Cross Country . Noah Shafer placed 6th overall at Oak Hill last night for RJB cross country. Ian Davis placed 25th.
MHS Cross Country . The boys runners placed 3rd last night behind Oak Hill and Peru at the Oak Hill Invitational event. Jacob Ehmer ran at 19:46 for a 19th place finish to place at the top of the Indian runners. The Lady Indians did not have enough runners to compete for a team title. Carli Fones and Reagan Tippey finished in 17th and 18th place.
MHS Girls Golf . Girls golf defeated Alexandria in a CIC match at Shady Hills last night 201-220. Peighten Allen was the medalist at 44. Maggie LaBarr shot a 47.
RJB Football . The Junior Indians from RJ Baskett brought home two wins against Elwood. The 7th grade won 22-0, and the 8th grade defeated the Panthers 28-22. Jayden Crick had 3 touchdowns including 2 kick-returns and a QB run. Hayden Nelson added a touchdown in the 8th grade contest. Nolan Quaderer ran for a touchdown alongside Deakon Dilts.
MHS C-Team Football . The Indians defeated Elwood last night 38-0. Carter Burton had 2 touchdowns and 2 two-point conversions. Lucas Bennett added a touchdown along with another two-point conversion on a pass from Landry Rock. Rock ran for a score as well as adding yet another two-point score. Gage Landis made an interception for the defensive side. Carter Burton recovered a fumble and ran the ball in for a touchdown to round out the scoring for the Indians.
Tonight’s Events . Girls golf tees off today at 4:30pm against South Adams at Shady Hills. Boys tennis hosts Maconaquah at 5:00pm. Boys soccer travels to Muncie Central for a 5:30pm first-touch while the Lady Indians host the Bearcats at 6:00pm. Volleyball will make the short trip to Fairmount to face the Madison Grant Argylls in a CIC match at 6:00pm. RJB volleyball hosts the Junior Argylls at 6:00pm.
Today’s Sports World Update
NFL . Tomorrow, the NFL season enters week one of the 2018 season as the Atlanta Falcons travel to Philadelphia. The season kicks-off at 8:30pm on NBC. The Colts will host Cincinnati on Sunday at 1:00pm in their season opener.
MLB . St. Louis defeated the Nationals last night 11-8. Pittsburgh won 7-3 over the Reds. The Cleveland Indians beat Kansas City 9-3. Detroit won 8-3 over the White Sox, and the Cubs lost to the Brewers 11-1.
