Tribe Sports Report

MHS Boys Tennis . Conference play began last night in Fairmount for the Indians and Coach Fleming. Mississinewa defeated Madison Grant 5-0 after a slow start. Boys tennis is now 5-3 on the season. Conner Murphy had the stand-out win with a 6-0, 6-0 win. The junior varsity also won 2-1. Ethan Sample picked up a Singles win, and then joined Josiah Stark to earn a 6-0 Doubles victory.

RJB Tennis . The RJB girls tennis team defeated Western last night 3-2 at Mississinewa High School. Winners for the ladies were Fuqua, Morrison, and Bushman. The boys lost to the Panthers 2-3 with wins coming from Ricks and Gary.

RJB Football . The Junior Indians lost two games in Greentown against the Eastern Comets last night. The 7th grade lost 42-0, and the 8th grade lost 12-0.

MHS Girls Golf . There was no report from last night’s Girls Golf match.

Tonight’s Events . Girls Golf tees off against Frankton at Shady Hills starting at 4:30pm. RJB Tennis will host McCulloch at the high school at 5:00pm. Boys Tennis travels to Blackford for another CIC match at 5:00pm. Boys Soccer battles the Heritage Pride on the road tonight after their loss to Delta on Tuesday. Kick-off will be at 5:30pm. RJB Volleyball travels to Elwood at 6:00pm. Rounding out the evening is the big CIC volleyball contest between the Lady Indians and the Eastbrook Panthers. The first serve for the JV is at 6:00pm and the live stream will begin at approximately 5:45pm on MCSC Athletic’s YouTube.

Today’s Sports World Update

PGA Golf . The Dell Technologies Championship will begin Friday at the TPC Boston. The defending champion Justin Thomas will tee off at 9:00am on Friday in the group immediately after Tiger Woods.

NFL . The Colts will travel to Cincinnati tonight to face the Bengals who are perfect through the preseason. That game begins at 7:00pm

NCAA Football . On Saturday, September 1st Alabama opens up against Louisville as the preseason number one. Michigan faces Notre Dame at 7:30pm on NBC, and No. 6 Washington will battle No. 9 Auburn at 3:30 on ABC.
