Tribe Sports Report

MHS Boys Tennis . The Indians hosted Northwestern last night and won 6-0 in an extended event with an extra doubles match. Coach Fleming and the team are now 4-1 heading into a tournament at Mooresville on Saturday.

MHS Boys Soccer . The Indians lost to the Marion Giants 7-1 last night. Noah Black had the lone goal of the night in the first half.

MHS Volleyball . Coach Bolser and the Lady Indians swept the Raiders of Southern Wells 3-0 last night. The team only gave up 25 points in all three sets winning 25-10, 25-5, 25-10. That moves the team to 5-3 on the season.

Tonight’s Events . Indian Football travels to New Haven to face the Bulldogs at 7:00pm. Admission is free tonight at New Haven High School to promote their new turf. Coach Funk and the Indians look to bounce back after the close defeat last week against Pendelton Heights.

Saturday’s Events . RJB and MHS Cross Country will run in the Eastbrook Invitational at Taylor University beginning at 9:00am on Saturday. Boys Soccer hosts Delta while Girls Soccer travels to Wabash. Both soccer matches start at 10:00am. Finally, Girls Golf will compete in the CIC tournament at Arbor Trace hosted by Eastbrook. The Lady Indians will tee off at 2:00pm.

Today’s Sports World Update

PGA Golf . Round One at the Northern Trust in New Jersey is complete. Four players are tied with the 5-under lead. Phil Mickelson is two strokes back. Tiger Woods shot an even 71 as he looks to tee off at 1:00pm today.

NFL . The Indianapolis Colts host the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday at 4:30pm. The Colts are 1-1 in the preseason campaign.

NCAA Football . College football returns this weekend. There are no Top 25 games, however until next Thursday.

Premiere League Soccer . Manchester City opens up the weekend against Wolves Saturday morning at 7:30am. The Red Devils look to bounce back after a huge upset at BHA last weekend. United takes on Spurs on Monday at 3:00pm.

MLB . Here are the latest scores from around the midwest in Major League Baseball…
