Boys Golf defeat Alex, JV Lady Indians shrink the Giants

Tribe Sports Report

MHS Boys Golf . Mississinewa defeated Alexandria last night 161-211. Josh Dakin was the medalist with a 39. Bryce Luedtke and Ty Corey shot a 40. Justin Dakin shot a 42, and Breyton Berryhill rounded out the scores with a 45.

MHS Softball . The Lady Indians lost to Northwestern last night 6-5 in 8 innings. Cierra Vasquez pitched 4 innings giving up 2 hits and 3 walks with 6 strikeouts. Jenna Berryhill finished the game striking out 6 and allowing 5 hits and 3 walks. Lexi Cruzan went 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Amaya David hit a home run while batting 2-2 and adding a double and 2 RBIs. The varsity softball team is now 12-10.

The JV team cruised past Marion yesterday 27-0 in 5 innings. Kandis Downam served up the win on the mound giving up only 2 hits while striking out 4 Lady Giant batters. Amaris Hickman was 3-5 to lead the team at the plate. Katie Hosier, Kaycee Sands, Madison Dotterweich, Alivia Rice, and Haley Herring all had 2 hits.

RJB Athletics . No results were reported for R.J. Baskett events. RJB Soccer did not play, as the opponent did not show up.

Tonight’s Events . Lady Indians Track and Field will compete at Indiana Wesleyan University in the IHSAA Sectional Meet tonight starting at 5:30pm. Softball travels to Southwood for a 5:00pm game, and the RJB Softball team will Maconaquah.

Today’s Sports World Update

NBA . Golden State defeated the Rockets 119-106 in Game One of the Western Conference Finals last night. Kevin Durant scored 37 points as the Warriors took control in the second half even with an impressive 41 from James Harden. Game Two is Wednesday at 9:00pm (TNT) as Houston tries to reclaim some home court pride. Cleveland and Lebron James will try to bounce back at Boston tonight in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals at 8:30pm (ESPN).

NHL . The Vegas Knights evened the series last night with Winnipeg in a 3-1 win. Game Three of the series is scheduled for Wednesday as Tampa Bay takes on the Washington Capitals tonight for Game Three of their series. Washington leads 2-0.
