Girls Tennis 5-0, RJB Track, Big night ahead on the diamonds

Tribe Sports Report

MHS Girls Tennis . The Lady Indians moved to 6-1 on the season with an away-win at Western last night. Mississinewa won 5-0 only losing 4 points through all singles matches. Riley Zirkle won two singles matches to help the JV win 3-1. Coach Fleming and the Lady Indians play Madison Grant tonight.

RJB Track & Field . Results from the Junior Indians Boys Track & Field event were sent in from Coach Van Winkle last night. RJB lost by 5 points to Madison Grant, but came out ahead of Blackford to place second at 48-43-35. Peyton McPeak won the 110m hurdles and the 200m. Lucas Asbury won the shot put and Seth Workman placed first in the high jump.

Tonight’s Events . It is a busy night at Mississinewa. Baseball and Softball will host Oak Hill starting at 5:00pm with the JV Softball to follow. RJB Softball hosts Blackford at 5:30pm. Girls Tennis travels to Madison Grant for a CIC showdown at 5:00pm. Boys Golf tees off at 4:30pm against Oak Hill. RJB Track & Field face Eastbrook at Mississinewa High School beginning at 4:30pm.

Today’s Sports World Update

NBA . A big three sunk the Pacers in Game 5 in Cleveland as Lebron James gave the Cavs a 98-95 win heading to Game 6 at Bankers Life on Friday. Indiana will be looking to push a seventh contest on Sunday in the opening round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Lebron James scored 44 points in the win. Domantas Sabonis led the Pacers with 22 points.

NHL . The Boston Bruins won their series against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 7-4 win last night. Tuukka Rask had 20 saves for Boston in the win. Tonight, Pittsburgh takes on Washington at 7:00pm and San Jose opens against Las Vegas at 10:00pm on the NBS Sports Network.
