Softball split with Argylls, Baseball 7-1 over MGHS

Tribe Sports Report

MHS Baseball . Tyler Jakob went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 stolen bases in last night’s 7-1 CIC win over Madison Grant at Mississinewa. Owen Felver pitched a complete game allowing only 5 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts. Easton Burton was 2 of 2 with a double and 3 RBIs, and Cade McCoin hit 1 for 2 with a triple.

MHS Softball . JV Softball defeated Madison Grant 15-1 in five innings last night. Kandis Downam threw the complete game allowing 4 hits and a walk while striking out 3. Kathryn Hosier batted 3 of 4, Alivia Rice was 2 for 3 with a double, and Kaycee Sands was 1 of 2 with a double and 3 RBIs. The varsity Lady Indians lost 11-2 to Madison Grant. Cierra Vasquez pitched the complete game finishing with only 3 strikeouts and a walk. Mississinewa is now 3-3

MHS Boys Golf . The Indians defeated Wabash 180-240. Josh Dakin was the medalist.

RJB Track & Field . The Junior Indians boys team lost to Oak Hill last night 62-38. Zach Luchetti won the 400m, Peyton McPeak took first in the 200m, Lucas Asbury won the shot put, and Seth Workman won the high jump.

RJB Sports . There were no other results reported for the rest of the RJB events last night.

Tonight’s Events . Mississinewa’s Track & Field will travel to Twin Lakes tonight. Events begin at 6:00pm. Boys Golf hosts Blackford at Shady Hills teeing off at 5:00pm. JV Baseball plays Eastern at home, and Girls Tennis travels to Wabash for a rescheduled event at 5:00pm. RJB Baseball plays at McCulloch at 5:00pm.

Events This Weekend . Boys Golf tees off in the Eastbrook Invitational on Saturday while Baseball hosts Bluffton in a double header starting at 11:00am. Fans can watch Indians Baseball live on MCSC Athletics YouTube provided by TribeTV student-media productions. Lady Indians Softball will play a double-header as well on Saturday at Logansport beginning at 10:00am.


Today’s Sports World Update

NBA . With the series tied at one game apiece, the Pacers and Cavs will face off tonight at 7:00pm on ESPN. Lebron James led Cleveland to barely grab a win in game two.

NASCAR . The Monster Cup Energy Series sets it’s sights on the Richmond International Raceway. Racing begins this Saturday, April 21st at 6:30pm on Fox.

MLB . Here are the latest scores from the midwest in Major League Baseball…
