Tribe Sports Report . Special Weekend Update

MHS iTribe . It’s a “Red Out” tonight for the Sectional Championship at Norwell. The Mississinewa High School Student Section encourages everyone to wear read and pack the stands. Doors open at Norwell High School at 6:45pm. Tickets are $6.00.

MHS Boys Basketball . It has been over half a century since a sectional banner has been hung at Mississinewa High School for Boys Basketball. Mississinewa has had a very successful athletics year, including a great run by the Indians football team cut just short of a state appearance at Greenwood. The Indians sealed a trip to the championship game with a 52-34 win over Bishop Luers on Friday night. Jerod May scored 15 points to pull within 12 of the 1000 point mark. Thabit Gault added another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Coach Evertts and the Indians will face the Marion Giants, who defeated Norwell last night, in the Sectional 23 Championship at Norwell High School tonight at 7:30pm. Today’s Events . RJB Wrestling travels to Frankfort today at 9:30am while MHS Track and Field will compete in an Indoor Meet at Indiana Wesleyan. Events begin at 9:00am for the Indians.


Today’s Sports World Update

NBA . The Indiana Pacers defeated the Bucks last night 103-96. Victor Oladipo had 21 points in the win.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . The Ball State Cardinals face Eastern Michigan today at 2:00pm, Notre Dame plays #1 Virginia on the ACC Network, and Butler will take on Providence at 5:00pm. The big game of the weekend is #9 North Carolina traveling to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the #5 Duke Blue Devils. Both teams have potential to take on the National Championship crown, but have encountered losses that leave some skeptical. The rivalry is the grand culmination to the end of the regular season in college basketball. The rivalry match-up can be seen on ESPN tipping off at 8:15pm.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . The Lady Bulldogs of Butler take on Seton Hall at 8:00pm.
