Indians win in last five seconds, all smiles

Tribe Sports Report

There will be a Golf Call-Out Meeting this Friday, March 2nd at Mississinewa High School in The Pit immediately after school. If there are questions or concerns please contact Coach James Reed prior to the meeting.

MHS Boys Basketball . With five seconds left at Norwell High School in the opening round of IHSAA Sectional 23, the Indians pushed past the slow pace of Heritage and claimed a win 33-32. Jerod May hit the lay-up to give the Indians the win, but the second half defensive pressure and a steady stream of free throws from Thabit Gault put the Indians in the position to advance. Gault finished the game with 10 points and nine rebounds. Mississinewa faces Bishop Luers on Friday at 7:30pm in the semi-finals. TribeTV will again have live coverage beginning at 7:00pm.

Tonight’s Events . There are no events for tonight for RJ Baskett or Missisisnewa High School.

Today’s Sports World Update

NBA . The Indiana Pacers, at 34-26, face the Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7:30pm.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . Central Michigan took down the Cardinals of Ball State last night 75-51. Notre Dame matches up tonight against Pittsburgh on ESPNU at 7:00pm.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . The Lady Cardinals of Ball State play Central Michigan tonight at 7:00pm on ESPN3. The two teams both possess a 23-4 record as the season winds down.

NAIA Men’s Basketball . Indiana Wesleyan claimed the Crossroads Championship last night 95-83 over Saint Francis. Jacob Johnson scored 20 points with 7 rebounds for the Wildcats.
