Boys Hoops falls to Trojans

Tribe Sports Report

Boys Basketball Sectional Tickets will be available for pre-sale at the Mississinewa High School Main Office. Weekend tickets are $10.00. Single session tickets will only be available at the event when you arrive at Norwell High School. Single session tickets are $6.00. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting Thursday, February 22 until noon on Tuesday, February 27.

Coach Evertts and the Indians will face Heritage in the 3A IHSAA Sectional at Norwell High School. The team will play at 7:30pm on Tuesday, February 27.

Any student interested in the TRAP team can attend an informational meeting on Monday, February 26 at 6:00pm in the MHS Cafeteria.

Tennis Open Hitting for Thursday, February 22 is cancelled. Contact Coach Fleming with any questions.

MHS Boys Basketball . The Indians traveled to New Castle’s Chrysler Fieldhouse last night to take on a very good Trojan team. The JV team was edged out 51-45 to move to 15-6 on the season. Colin Yoder had 19 points. The varsity Indians lost last night 88-52 as New Castle scored 57 second half points. Mississinewa is now 13-8 going into Thursday night’s home game against Taylor, and final game of the season. Jerod May has returned in good form for the Indians as he led the team with 18 points.

RJB Boys Basketball . The 6th grade A-team lost 58-29 to Justice last night. The B-Team also lost 40-22.

Tonight’s Events . RJB 6th grade Girls Basketball travels to Montpelier for a 5:30pm contest with the Spartans.


Today’s Sports World Update

Winter Olympics . The United States Women’s Cross-Country Skiing won it’s first gold medal. Lindsey Vonn won bronze in Downhill Skiing. The Men’s Hockey team was eliminated from competition last night.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . Ball State defeated Northern Illinois 77-68 last night. Trey Moses had 23 points in the Cardinals win. Butler defeated Creighton 93-70 led by 26 points from Kelan Martin. The Hoosiers ended a four-game win streak by losing to Nebraska 66-57. Justin Smith was the leading scorer for Indiana with 16 points.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . The Indiana Lady Hoosiers defeated Minnesota 82-70. Tonight, Purdue plays Illinois and Ball State faces Western Michigan at 7:00pm.
