Tribe Sports Report
MHS Girls Basketball . The Lady Indians fell last night at Yorktown 79-35. Halle Planck scored 8 points with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks as the Lady Indians battled 33 turnovers as a team. Tyler Bartel and Ally Hewitt added 7 points each. Holli Greer picked up 6 boards as well. The junior varsity won 40-29. Coach Tandy and the Lady Indians are at home on Saturday against Madison Grant (11:00am). Fans can watch that game on the MCSC Athletics YouTube channel live.
MHS Boys Basketball . The C-team lost to Wes-Del 39-30. They will play at 5:00pm on Friday at Madison Grant in a triple-header event with the junior varsity and varsity teams.
Tonight’s Events . RJB Girls Basketball travels to Wabash to battle the Junior Apaches at 6:00pm. Please remember that the wrestling and C-team basketball games that were originally scheduled for tonight at Mississinewa High School were postponed due to the Christmas Concert. Our community can watch that concert on TribeTV’s YouTube channel beginning at 7:00pm.
Upcoming Events . On Friday, MHS Boys Basketball will play Madison Grant on the road for a big CIC and county match-up. The Lady Indians have that same battle with the Argylls on Saturday at Mississinewa starting at 11:00am. The Lady Indians basketball game with Madison Grant will be live on MCSC Athletics YouTube.
Today’s Sports World Update
NBA . Oklahoma defeated the Pacers at the Fieldhouse last night 100-95. Steven Adams led all scorers with 23 points. Victor Oladipo led Indiana with 19 points and 6 assists. Paul George only had 12 points in his return to Indiana on 3-14 shooting. Russell Westbrook put up a triple-double with 10 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists.
NFL . The Colts will face the 4-9 Broncos on Thursday Night Football on NBC. Indianapolis is 3-10 on the season. That game starts at 8:30pm.
NCAA Men’s Basketball . On Saturday, Butler faces off against #17 Purdue at noon on Fox. Indiana will play #18 Notre Dame immediately following the Purdue game at approximately 2:30pm. Both games are part of the Crossroads Classic. Villanova took over the top spot in the country’s AP & USA Today rankings this week after Duke’s loss to Boston College. Michigan State, Wichita State, and Duke complete the top spots in both polls. Villanova will likely remain in the top spot until after Christmas as they don’t play again until December 22 against Hofstra.
