Tribe Sports Report

MHS Girls Basketball . Friday night the Lady Indians traveled to Eastbrook for a CIC battle. The junior varsity started the night off with a win 49-18. The varsity opened the game down 11-7 after the first quarter before turning it around and winning the last three to close out a victory 56-38 over the Lady Panthers. Erika Foy led the Lady Indians with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Alayna Webb scored 12 points, Holli Greer added 10 points, and Halle Planck pulled down 11 rebounds. Coach Tandy and the Lady Indians travel to Muncie Burris tomorrow.

MHS Boys Basketball . The Indians were also on the road Saturday against Northwestern. The junior varsity squad defeated Northwestern 41-33. Tai McClung scored 10 points and Drew Castanon added 9 points as they moved to 3-1 on the season. The varsity lost 45-43 to move to 2-2 heading into a cross-county battle with Oak Hill later this week.

Tonight’s Events . There are no events tonight. Girls Basketball returns to action tomorrow along with RJB Basketball.

NFL . The Indianapolis Colts lost to the Jaguars this weekend 30-10. Jacoby Brissett was 21-36 for 174 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Frank Gore had 13 carries for 61 yards. T.Y. Hilton made 3 receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.

NCAA Men’s Basketball . #5 Notre Dame defeated St. Francis 71-53 this weekend. The Purdue Boilermakers took a 74-69 win over Northwestern. Isaac Haas scored 26 points on 8-13 shooting. Indiana and Iowa face-off on the Big Ten Network tonight at 8:00pm.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . Auburn defeated the Indiana Lady Hoosiers 65-53. Butler picked up a win against Illinois State 56-45. At the Jimmy V Women’s Classic, #1 UCONN bested #3 Notre Dame 80-71. Ball State (6-0) will take on Purdue tonight at 7:00pm.

NBA . The Indiana Pacers kick off a six-game home stretch with a game tonight against the New York Knicks at 7:00pm.
