RJB Hoops Sweeps Alexandria

Tribe Sports Report

RJB Girls Basketball . The Lady Indians swept the Alexandria Tigers last night. The 7th grade team won 34-14 led by Mackenzie Austin’s 10 points. The 8th grade Lady Indians won 49-29 with a huge performance by Mia Catey scoring 25 points. The girls Holiday Tournament this Saturday has been cancelled along with the game at McCulloch on December 11.

RJB Boys Basketball . The boys also swept the Alexandria Tigers with two big wins. The 7th grade squad won 50-23. Donavin Betts scored 17 points. The 8th grade team defeated the Tigers 61-7. Dakota Ancil continued his good season with 23 points. The boys are on the road to Kokomo next Tuesday for a 6:00pm contest with the Wildcats. The team’s Holiday Tournament set for next Saturday has been cancelled.

Tonight’s Events . MHS Wrestling opens their season on the road at Madison Grant. The action on the mat begins at 6:00pm.

Today’s Sports World Update

NCAA Men’s Basketball . The game of the night was Duke traveling to Bloomington to take on Indiana. Duke defeated Indiana 91-81, pulling away in the final 5 minutes of play. The Hoosiers led several times throughout the game, and showed great progress developing in the Archie Miller system. There were over 20 ties throughout the contest. Missed free throws and turnovers plagued the Hoosiers down the stretch and allowed Duke to take control. Marvin Bagley scored 23 points for the Blue Devils, but Duke was led by their captain Grayson Allen in the final few minutes. IU was led in scoring by Robert Johnson’s 17 points. #5 Notre Dame takes on #3 Michigan State tonight at 7:00pm on ESPN.

NCAA Women’s Basketball . #3 Notre Dame defeated #22 Michigan last night 83-63 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Ball State also won 87-75 against Butler. Purdue and Georgia Tech face off tonight at 7:00pm on the ACC Network. The Lady Hoosiers battle #4 Louisville at 8:00pm on the Big Ten Network.

NBA . The Indiana Pacers lost to the Houston Rockets 118-97. James Harden led all scorers with 29 points. Thaddeus Young topped the Pacers list with 23 points.
