Fall Break, Football, and Runners

Tribe Sports Report

Mississinewa Schools is on Fall Break on Thursday and Friday of this week and Monday of next week (October 19-23). Be sure to follow MCSC Athletics on Twitter or Facebook for information over break.

Aurora Fisher and Brennan Butche will need to finish in the top ten at the New Haven Semi-State on Saturday to advance. Races will begin at approximately 1:00pm with the boys competition followed by the girls at approximately 1:45pm. The event will be held at The Plex in Ft. Wayne. Admission to this event is $5.

Mississinewa Football will travel to Frankfort High School on Friday, October 20 for the opening round of the sectional tournament. Game time is 7:00pm, and admission is $6. Mississinewa will host the winner of the Delta-Marion contest the following week if they defeat the Hot Dogs.


Pro & College Sports Update

ALCS . The New York Yankees defeated the Houston Astros 6-4 in the Bronx to even the series at two games each last night. Aaron Judge launched a home run that started a late surge from the Yankees and added a double late in the game as part of a huge eighth inning. The ALCS series ends it’s stay in the Bronx today with game five at 4:00pm (FS1).

NLCS . Darvish controlled the game through 7 for the Dodgers, only allowing one Schwarber home run in the first inning, as Los Angeles is now one game away from clinching a spot in the World Series. Wrigley Field will host game four tonight at 9:00pm (TBS) in what could be the final game of the NLCS.

NBA . The big story in the NBA so far in the opening week was the terrifying leg fracture sustained by Gordon Hayward last night as the Celtics lost to Cleveland 102-99. Hayward is a Butler alum who was making his debut for Boston.
